We’re Called to serve

We are called to serve all of God’s beloved daughters and sons in the spirit of the compassionate Christ.  Our ministries, programs, and events are experiences to deepen the life of the soul in community with others.

Adult Faith Formation

Our Catholic Christian faith requires life-long learning and focus on the Word, Worship, and Witness. At the heart of Adult Faith Formation is an encounter with Christ in
Word and Worship, engagement with our parish faith community, and participation in the mission of Christ through service and stewardship.

Various opportunities offered throughout the year include Scripture study, faith reflection groups, days of prayer and reflection, lectures, and presentations to strengthen one’s faith.

Bereavement Ministry

This ministry of Holy Trinity is here to accompany people on the journey through their period of grief, offering spiritual, emotional, and practical support.  Once the Parish Office is informed of a death, a member of the ministry makes a contact offering to provide practical support to the family as well as consultation regarding the Scripture texts and music for the funeral liturgy, the Mass of Christian Burial.

A Bereavement Support Group meets for five consecutive weeks in the Fall and the Spring of each year.

Family Faith Formation

The Family Faith Formation Office works to support each family in sharing the Catholic Faith with their children. We provide classes for grades 1- 10 during the school year and offer the option of a summer session as well.

A separate program assists parents, our children’s primary catechists, in preparing for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Faith Formation coordinates the Confirmation program with Holy Trinity’s Youth Ministry
as well. Family Gathering events sponsored by Faith Formation throughout the year strengthen our community of faith.

Catechists and aides are vital in forming children in the Catholic Faith. At the heart of catechesis is the effort to make faith become living, conscious, and active through the light of instruction. Training and support for all catechists is provided. Volunteers are needed to coordinate special events, prepare refreshments, and perform other tasks associated with our children’s program.

Men’s Bible Study

The Men’s Scripture reflection group meets for one hour on Saturday mornings at 7:20 a.m. Sunday’s readings are read, and we listen to Bishop Robert Barron’s weekly reflection on the readings. This is followed by sharing how the readings and reflection inspire us, challenge us, and define us as Christians.

Rosary Society

Holy Trinity & St. Helen’s Rosary Society invites women to share in devotion to the Blessed Mother by praying the Rosary at meetings, providing spiritual help and support for one another, assisting the parish spiritually and socially, and volunteering to launder altar linens.

Members gather in Holy Trinity Parish Center seven times
during the year between October and May around Our Lady’s feast days. Meetings conclude with fellowship and light refreshments.

Scripture Study Groups

Parishioners gather and engage in prayer, faith sharing, and
discussions. Several groups within Holy Trinity parish have been meeting periodically for years, having their start with the Renew Program. Groups meet during Advent, Lent, and frequently during the year, some in 6-week segments.

Women’s Cornerstone

Cornerstone, a 26-hour parish-sponsored spiritual renewal process brings women together to grow in knowledge and love of God. At the same time, they experience the Christian community in a very special way within the parish. This weekend generally takes place just prior to Lent. The team changes annually.

Youth & Young Adult Ministry

Our Youth Ministry is designed to give young people opportunities where they can connect with God and their peers, all while having fun.

Youth Group nights are planned and facilitated by our parish’s Peer Ministers: the God Squad. Peer Ministers are High School students who have been trained to lead in prayer, presentation, games, and group facilitation. The program offers many spiritual, social, and service opportunities.
There are two groups:  Junior High Youth – Grades 7 & 8 High School Youth – Grades 9 through 12.

Holy Trinity School aims to educate our students to actualize their full, individual potential both spiritually and academically, while adhering to the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church. Catholic education will enable them to become responsible members of their families, high schools, churches, and communities in an ever-changing world.

As a Middle States Accredited School operating under the
auspices of the Newark Archdiocesan School System, the school emphasizes the values of our faith and continually seeks to build a community where parents, students, faculty, parishioners, staff, and clergy share a common concern for the spiritual and educational growth of each individual.

Pre-school programs and a full-day kindergarten are offered in the same building as elementary and middle school classes. Extended Day Care is also available.
